Digital Photography: Basics Workshop

This was a very popular event last year and it’s back for another year. If you want to learn more about how your digital camera works and create better images this is the event for you.

Admission is $40 at the door. Registration starts 8:30 am.

Morning Sessions

Mike McCarthy: Workflow and File Management in Adobe Lightroom

  • Basic workflow, editing and retouching.
  • Digital file management and backups.
  • Finding an image—how to use keywords and searching.
  • Saving for email and print.
  • Publishing to the web and printing to a service.

Steve Kaiser: Tips from a Pro

  • Composition – all about lines, shapes, forms, textures, colors, tension and drama.
  • Learning to see the background, corners, edges and horizons.
  • Customizing your camera and learning to maximize your gear’s capabilities.
  • Choosing the right focal length and lens and how to use focus points.
  • All about aperture, shutter speed and depth of field.
  • Practice makes a pro.

    Do you have to be a member of Photoguild NS in order to register for the Saturday (19th) workshop “Intro to Digital Photography”?

    My friend and I are interested but weren’t sure from the info provided whether we can register.

      Sorry Madeline I didn’t see your comment till this morning. The workshop is a public event open to everyone. Also guests are always welcome at any Guild meeting.

    Thanks for the great workshop. I had a lot of fun doing the afternoon part of workshop.
    The speakers topic in the morning part was just what I need, backed up in the afternoon sessions!
    The only thing lacking was no speakers notes.
