Website Security

The Guild’s server has had a security update and Alan, at WHATASITE, has installed a top level security and anti-hacking package called iTheme Security Pro. At no cost to us!

The email bugs, which blocked any email forwarding and prevented the contact us form from working, have been fixed. Once the current competition uploads are finished, I will upgrade our PHP software to the latest version.

Last season I had to disable the post notification plugin because the address SQL table was hacked. It was being used as a spam email database, with hundreds of email addresses added every week. Now that we have new security and anti-hacking code I have installed a different, and very simple, post notification plugin.

At the bottom of the website side panel there is a Subscribe widget where you can enter your email address. Any time a new post is published you will be sent a notification email. The email will come from “” so you might want to make sure those emails don’t end up in your spam folder.

This is a simple function, and you won’t get any more than a few emails a month, but it is the best way to not miss a website post. And you can always ask me to unsubscribe you.
