York Redoubt National Historic Site

300 Ferguson Cove, Halifax, NS
Military fortification and defense bunkers

Low tide at 10:02 a.m.
High tide at 3:04 p.m.

We will meet at Tim Horton’s parking lot, West End Mall on Mumford Rd. Halifax, at 8:00 a.m.
Release Form to be signed by each individual, as required …  bring your own -or I will have some copies with us.

Please note: For those who wish to meet at the Redoubt – Please be at the Redoubt parking lot (there is plenty of parking there) no later than 8:45 a.m. as we shall all walk from there down to the bunkers and the water front rocks via a specific trail. LOW TIDE is at 10:02 a.m. and we wish to be in place to take advantage of the exposed shoreline.

Dress accordingly for the weather – temperature should be about 14 °C. Proper hiking boots should be worn or as you wish. Rocks may be slippery, especially at low tide.

Please bring your own lunch and water.

Lots to photograph in the abandoned bunkers… Graffiti is spectacular and makes for Abstract Art. After lunch and a bit of rising tide we shall then cross over to Purcell Cove Rd. to photograph huckleberries and burned tree stumps and woodlands, which should stunning at this time.

Stephen and I look forward to seeing you.

Ciao,
Eugene Mio
