Sampling the Natural Wonders of South America and Antarctica
Jim Neale

South America spans more lines of latitude than any other continent… and subsequently offers a huge range of environments for one to explore photographic interests. Over roughly 12 months Jim and his wife Donna have visited a few of South America’s many natural wonders including the Galapagos, the Amazon, Torres del Paine, the glaciers of Argentina, and Iguazu Falls. They visited Ushuaia (southernmost tip of South America) in search of a last minute (cheaper) fare to Antarctica. They lucked out and had the good fortune to experience the Antarctic Peninsula’s harsh and isolated landscape from venturing out in small zodiacs. It was both awe inspiring and humbling.

Jim will share some of his experiences, images and musings about independent and budget travel in South America… and one might get to Antarctica for a reasonable cost.

Bio:
Jim took up photography far too late in his life. He considers himself a wanderer and an opportunist – searching for compelling places and moments and then attempting to capture them in images. He makes up for his modest photographic skills with an adventurous spirit that occasionally gets remarkable subject matter in his viewfinder. Jim’s photographic interests tend to focus on sport and travel, which can be previewed on his Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/jimneale/albums
