Bio:
As a visual artist, Stella d’Entremont devotes her creative energy to nature, wildlife, and landscape photography, capturing the quiet majesty and raw emotion of Canada’s wild spaces. Born in the Acadian fishing village of West Pubnico, Nova Scotia, and proud of her fourth-generation Métis heritage, Stella draws deep inspiration from the land, sea, and cultural stories that shaped her upbringing.
A graduate of Chamberlayne Junior College in Boston, Massachusetts, Stella refined her photographic voice through years of mentorship with respected professionals and through continuous exploration of the natural world. She holds five PPOC accreditations from the Professional Photographers of Canada in Wildlife, Ornithology/Bird, Nature, Pictorial (Landscape), and Fine Art Photography — a testament to her technical excellence and creative range.
Stella’s recent work led to three solo exhibitions and the publication of her book ACADIENNES – Voix de la génération silencieuse | Voices of the Silent Generation, which preserves and amplifies the voices of Acadian women through portraiture and storytelling.
Dedicated to growing Canada’s photographic community, Stella serves as the current President of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA). She has been a certified CAPA judge since 2021 and continues to adjudicate national and regional competitions across the country. In recognition of her artistic and community contributions, she was named a CAPA Fellow in 2024 — one of the organization’s highest honours.
Stella is also a proud member of the Association acadienne des artistes professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick (AAAPNB), further reflecting her commitment to promoting Acadian culture and supporting the broader arts community.
Beyond the lens, Stella is passionate about teaching and mentorship. Through hands-on photography workshops, image critiques, and personalized coaching, she helps beginner and novice photographers build both confidence and craft — whether they’re composing their first landscape or tracking elusive wildlife in the field.
